1000 Guineas - 2008 Result

Any doubts that the speedy French filly, Natagora would not stay the Rowley Mile test in the 1000 Guineas of 2008 were quickly dispelled when the impressive looking grey made all to claim the win.

The Divine Light French-bred, who had proven her talent as a two year old when winning the Cheveley Park Stakes was sent off 11/4 odds against favourite in the 1000 Guineas betting. She never looked like getting headed and her make all tactics confirmed that trainer Pascal bary knew exactly how to race her.

Bary, whose Six Perfections was second to Russian Rhythm in the 1000 Guineas in 2003 - see 1000 Guineas Past Winners - always knew that she would get the mile and would be quick enough to burn off any competition at the end. She finished ahead of the James Fanshaw trained Spacious, with Saoirse Abu a 20/1 shot finishing third.
